A mid-20th century Murano vase attributed to Archimede Seguso, its pear-shaped body infused with gold leaf and worked in vertical ribs from base to rim. The scalloped rim flares out and up in an irregular, hand-finished edge characteristic of hand-blown glass. Gold leaf sits suspended in the glass itself, not painted on, catching light differently depending on the angle. The base is ground and polished, a finishing step typical of Seguso's Murano output.
