A Boston Queen Anne side chair, built in old-growth mahogany with a scalloped seat rail and cabriole legs ending in pad feet. The vasiform splat rises into a shaped crest rail, and turned stretchers join the legs low, bracing the frame without interrupting its line. The square slip seat drops into a conforming scalloped frame, keeping the profile clean from every angle. The blue marine wool damask fabric with a die-impressed damask pattern is a later reupholstery, not original to the chair, but is period-appropriate to its style and date.
