An English Victorian doorstop cast in iron as a standing lion, dating to the second half of the 19th century. The mane is deeply modeled in overlapping locks, framing a forward-facing head, and the tail curls into a loose loop above the haunches. Cast hollow at the back, a standard method for doorstops of this type and period, the figure stands foursquare on a solid rectangular base.
