A pair of French Empire bronze tazzas raised on dolphin supports, cast in the early 19th century. Each shallow dish has a knurled rim and rests on three dolphins standing on a tripod plinth with knurled, suppressed ball feet. The dolphin motif was a favorite of Empire-era metalworkers, borrowed from classical fountain and table imagery and rendered here with scaled bodies and flared fins.
