An English mallet-form decanter, cut and blown in the Georgian period, circa 1810. A slice-cut lip sits above a broad swirl-cut band on the neck, narrowing to a second slice-cut band, then opening into a deep Georgian diamond cut border that wraps the body at its widest point, finished with a narrow slice-cut band at the foot. The bull's-eye stopper carries matching facets. A ground and polished pontil under the foot marks the hand-finishing typical of the period.
