An American Sheraton tabernacle mirror, attributed to Waterhouse of Albany, New York, circa 1810. The mirror frame is turned from white pine and finished in gilt gesso. Sixteen small gilt spheres line the cornice above a band of stamped shell and leaf ornament, echoed at either side by ring-turned, reeded half-columns. Those columns flank a two-part mercury amalgam mirror plate, the smaller upper pane separated from the larger lower one by a reeded horizontal bar, with a beaded rail closing out the base.
